Tyrone is a character from Nickelodeon's The Backyardigans who appears in a test animation for Handy Manny. In the test, the tools tell Manny about their plant, as they think it's sick, to which Manny begins to tell them that it isn't sick, but gets interrupted when someone comes in as Rusty says "Uh-oh! It's him!" and Pat screams, to which Manny turns his head and the person at the door is revealed to be Tyrone, who then proceeds to use red lightsabers from Star Wars, then Manny grabs his pencil and it turns into a lightsaber and he even uses The Force, all while "Duel of the Fates" from The Phantom Menace plays.
Trivia[]
- The Backyardigans was created by the same company as Handy Manny, Nelvana, which coincidentally made Ewoks, as well as the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special (which was one of their earlier projects).
- To add to that, Disney, which owns Handy Manny, now owns Star Wars.
- The test animation in question was a test created by Rotting Hills (yet another Nelvana show) creator Glen Wyand (bipbibop) so he could transfer into Nelvana's 3D department (since Rotting Hills, as well as his other work up to that point, were 2D); this was his first time touching 3D animation software Maya. Wyand started off following the storyboards, but halfway through the test, when Manny says "Don't worry tools.", due to the fact that Wyand didn't get any sleep, he suddenly decided to add a little extra action to the end as described above. Fortunately, his supervisor had a sense of humor and thus, accepted the test, which lead to Wyand joining the 3D department.
